Is this immature ?
For a few months now the neighbour has been running his water taps non-stop for hours. The pipes go through my apartment so it sounds like I’m sitting on top of a river. It only happens in the night-time hours, and sometimes it stops briefly before going again. Last friday, 6 hours, non-stop.
I told the landlord who was definitely talking to the neighbour today. So either the landlord didn’t mention it, the guy doesn’t care, or the landlord told him to do it anyways since they both hate me. Tonight was 5 hours and I noticed a pattern. The water runs, front door opens, water stops. I "think" he left the taps on and went out, just so he could get the benefit of annoying me without annoying himself.
Anyways, I’m fed up and have left my taps running for about 40 minutes. Immature: Yes. Justified…? Perhaps. Will it fix anything…? IDK. Maybe.
Hey now! I am an eFriendly person. I walk everywhere, I use a backpack for grocceries, no plastic. And I recycle.
FYI, water bill is calculated into same monthly rent. .. Not to excuse what I’m doing, I just mean it won’t cost anything.
But really, how many times should I need to approach someone with the same problem before it’s fixed? I’m agrophobic so I CANNOT talk to a stranger/neighbour.
You already answered yes to your own question. What do you want us to answer?
Your landlord isn’t going to do anything about it, and obviously the guy has enough money to pay his water bill. It’s his water, and he is paying the bill so legally you can’t do anything. Either get use to it or move.

yes, it is immature. just walk up to your landlord and try again, and also try talking to your neighbor.

Immature? yes, absolutely and stupid since someone has to pay that water bill. If the goal is to get you to leave, then maybe it’s working.

"Care for the environment much? "
I know right!
That’s such a waste of water.
Anyways, you leaving your water taps on for
40 minutes isn’t going to help the situation.
It’s just more noise and harm to the environment.

That sounds like a bad situation for you. Is the landlord you mentioned the actual owner of the building, or just a manager? If it is just a manager, I would try to contact the owner of the building and let them know what is happening.

There may be a chance that your neighbor doesn’t want you to hear him leaving and thinks the water is a good cover for his exit. At the same time, maybe the he could think that the water is covering up sounds of his daily routine.
